On September 9, 2025, the team led by He Liumin and Rong Limin from The Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University published a research paper titled "Targeting Fibrotic Scarring by Mechanoregulation of Il11ra1+/Itga11+ Fibroblast Patterning Promotes Axon Growth after Spinal Cord Injury" online in Advanced Science. The study reports that the mechanical strength of an integrated hydrogel composed of hyaluronic acid-graft-dopamine and HRR peptides guides fibroblast migration, thereby determining ECM deposition.
